3D ultrasound computer tomography for medical imaging
نویسندگان
چکیده
Our 3D ultrasound computer tomograph (USCT) is an device method aimed at early breast cancer diagnosis. It is capable of producing images with sub-millimeter resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio. This method is universally useable for the 3D analysis of sufficient small bodies similar to the size of a breast, which may be immersed in a liquid coupling medium. In this paper, an overview of the developed method and the first results for static test examples (phantoms) and the perspective of our 3D-USCT at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe are presented. r 2007 Elsevier B.V. Design and Manipulation 3D Imaging System by using Photodiode Grid
Introduction: Radiation imaging is one of the applicable methods in diagnostic medicine and nondestructive testing for industrial applications. In nondestructive 3D imaging, in addition to the radiation source, there is a requirement for a suitable detection system, data acquisition system, mechanical sections for moving objects, reconstruction algorithm and finally a computer for processing an...

BARRY B. GOLDBERG, MD Neonatal neurosonography is commonly used to evaluate infants for the presence of intracranial hemorrhage, hyrdocephalus, congenital defects, and other abnormalities. The size and location of the fontanelles that are used as acoustic windows to view brain structure can impose limits on the conventional technique. A relatively recent advance in ultrasound imaging technology...
متن کاملMedical Volume Reconstruction Techniques
Medical visualization is the use of computers to create 3D images from medical imaging data sets, almost all surgery and cancer treatment in the developed world relies on it.Volume visualization techniques includes iso-surface visualization, mesh visualization and point cloud visualization techniques, these techniques have revolutionized medicine. Much of modern medicine relies on the 3D imagin...
متن کامل3D Ultrasound Transmission Tomography Using Synthetic Aperture Focusing and Regularized Algebraic Reconstruction
Ultrasound transmission tomography is presented as an imaging modality for breast cancer diagnosis. A 3D reconstruction technique is proposed for estimation of soundspeed images for the Karlsruhe 3D ultrasound transmission tomograph. The problems of sparse spatial distribution of ultrasound transducers and of low signal-to-noise ratio are approached using synthetic aperture focusing. The image ...
متن کاملGuidelines for the Use of Laparoscopic Ultrasound Technical Aspects of Laparoscopic Ultrasound
The most important characteristics of an operating room ultrasound scanner are compact, mobile, real-time B-mode system and high quality image.1 Doppler capabilities, preferably color Doppler, are highly desirable and, in fact, most important in laparoscopic use to allow visualization of tubular and vascular structures. Further improvements—such as real time 3D visualization by combining severa...
